Sushma Swaraj buckled under Chinese pressure: Rahul Gandhi

Attacking External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the Doklam issue, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi today said that the minister “prostrated herself in front of Chinese power”. The remark comes a day after Swaraj told the Lok Sabha that the face-off between China and India over Doklam was resolved through “diplomatic maturity without losing any ground” and status quo has been maintained.

Taking on Twitter, Rahul said: “Amazing how a lady like Sushma ji has buckled and prostrated herself in front of Chinese power. Absolute subservience to the leader means our brave jawan has been betrayed on the border.”

The external affairs minister also said after the Wuhan summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping also met on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Johannesburg and the SCO summit. As a result of the understanding developed in Wuhan, later meetings also covered the issue of Doklam.
